It is not just a game – it is the most influential and one of the most powerful sports. Players are much more than just players, turning billions of heads and earning just as much money.
They are idols to millions, making commercials and smiling from billboards. Football players are no longer modern gladiators. It seems that they are not here for us, but we are here for them, to adore them, support them, watch their matches and read about them in sport magazines, but in tabloids as well.
